Welcome to the Londres Bridge Club
Le Club des Français de Grande Bretagne a été créé en 1986 á l’initiative de bridgeurs français qui jouant entre amis devenaient de plus en plus nombreux. Le Club s’installa dans les locaux du club anglais : the Young Chelsea Bridge Club connu pour avoir abrité les plus grands noms du bridge mondial.
Le Club est affilié à la Fédération Française de Bridge et fait partie du Comité de l’Outre Mer et de l’Etranger (CBOME).
Le Club des Français de G-B., français par son nom, réunit une vingtaine de nationalités francophiles ou francophones ; la langue officielle est cependant l’anglais.
Une séance par semaine est proposée aux bridgeurs : le Lundi de 11h00 â 15h00.
En plus des tournois de régularité le Club participe à deux simultanés mensuels : le Master Roy René de Gilles Quéran et la Ronde Société Générale du CBOME.
Une équipe de bénévoles anime le Club, organisant les tournois et trouvant des partenaires aux joueurs esseulés.
Le Club a deux arbitres et deux enseignantes.
Le 1er Septembre 2013 le Club des Français de G-B. a déménagé et s’est installé à l’Institut Français section linguistique du No 13 de Cromwell Place SW7 et s'appelle:
Londres Bridge Club.

What started as a friendly game among bridge enthusiasts soon became a club as more and more players turned out to be regular participants. This is how in 1986 French bridge players created the French Club of Great Britain. The Club took residence within the Young Chelsea Bridge Club premises, a club well known for the world class quality of the players it attracts. The French club is affiliated to the French Bridge Federation and is also part of the overseas committee (CBOME).
Although the French Club of Great Britain is French in name, it comprises around twenty nationalities among which many Francophiles and French speakers. Its official language is English.
Bridge players are offered one weekly session: Mondays 11 to 3pm.
In addition to the regular games, we hold two monthly simultaneous duplicates: The Master Roy René by Gilles Quéran and the Ronde Société Générale by the CBOME committee played on the Tuesday slot.
The French Club is run by a team of volunteers who organise the games and make every effort to find partners for single players. It has two directors and two teachers.
As of 1st September 2013, The French Club of Great Britain moved to a new location at 13 Cromwell Place, SW7, within the premises of the French Institute's Language section and took a new name:
Londres Bridge Club.
